Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive and fatal motor neuron disease. It attacks the motor neurons in your spine and brain, slowly, or sometimes quickly, making you unable to use your voluntary muscles. These muscles include those responsible for you being able to walk, talk, and eat. ALS is non-selective. Anyone can become ill with ALS. At the moment there is no cure nor effective treatment for the disease. ALS Double Play is hoping to change this through supporting research at the University of Toronto.
ALS Double Play was started because of one young man's story. By raising awareness and supporting research we will reach make a difference in the lives of thousands who love, care for, and live with ALS.
